The name Thomas Wittmann is known throughout the collecting world. Tom has been an avid collector, author, researcher and dealer in the U.S. since the late 1960’s. Tom has written numerous magazine articles, co-authored the excellent reference book, “Collecting the Edged Weapons of Imperial Germany ”, and is currently publishing his own multi-volume series on German Daggers. Tom is also an excellent supporter of other researchers in the field. He has supported our research in the Imperial German Heer daggers from the very beginning, as he is also a student and continually seeking new knowledge regarding German Edged weapons.
The Carl Eickhorn Automobile Corps dagger pictured here is from Tom’s personal collection. This dagger was produced after 1912 and is silver plated brass. The double wire grip is missing. The blade while showing age, is an excellent example of Eickhorn production.
